Can the organization be fiscally sponsored by a nonprofit?
I'm not sure what you are referring to. Your fiscal sponsor MUST be a nonprofit.

Youth Spirit is opening our youth-initiated Tiny House Empowerment Village this fall and the address is 633 Hegenberger. We have done multiple projects in Oakland over the years (certainly two years of community art) and we have bills showing our 633 Hegenberger Village address. But our main agency address in about 20yards from the Oakland border, in S. Berkeley. Are we eligible to apply for organizational funding? We want to get funding for youth murals at our tiny house village, serving 22 homeless youth. Its adjacent to the Coliseum in an industrial wasteland really badly needing art!!!
This funding is for nonprofit organization located in Oakland. You must show proof or residency in Oakland.

Hi! I am a member of a community library that is very interested in applying for this grant. The Niebyl-Roscoe Proctor Marxist Library for Social Research aims to help working people understand and create our role in history by maintaining and building an accessible library and archive. We believe we could put these funds to great use for researchers and the community at large, but we just found out about this grant today and don't feel like we can properly put together an application in the next four days. We have also heard that there is a lack of applicants and were wondering if there is any chance you could extend the deadline for applications? If so, we would be happy to apply and show you how our library can benefit the community of Oakland and the bay area, and more, at large. We believe fiercely in our importance as a space for providing counter hegemonic information, and want to make that information accessible. We have worked already to create an online catalog.
I don't have plans to extend the deadline. I've received over 60 inquiries since my Facebook post on Friday.
Please make sure that your project clearly demonstrates how it closely aligns with our guidelines. Feel free to call me personally Tuesday through Thursday, to discuss your project. You can also email me with specific questions.

I am an Alameda County resident, not living in the city of Oakland. I don't mind doing the work in the Oakland and surrounding area. Will that present a problem?
These grants are for Oakland-based (residing in Oakland) nonprofit organizations. Funds cannot be used outside of Oakland.
