hello. my name is anthony stephen stamey lloyd. i have a question about some of the things that you asked the individual artists too cc. what are the reqiurements exactley, specfically, for like the marketing/outreach, background checks, proof of completed projects etc etc and how do you apply them and send them to you?
Hi Anthony: I am hoping that you have attended or will attend the How-to-Apply workshops. There is one today at 5:30pm at City Hall in Hearing room 2.
1) I'm not sure what background checks have to do with your project, but we don't require them to receive a grant. Perhaps you might be wondering about those requirements for those working in public or charter schools. Insurance companies that issue sexual molestation insurance require background and fingerprinting.
2) Marketing/Outreach: We ask that you explain your plans for marketing and outreach. How will you find attract or recruit people to participate in your activity/event/performance?
3) Proof of completed projects: You could be referring to our requirement to list your previous projects. List them. We don't requirement documentation for your list. We DO require a WORK SAMPLE as part of your application.
4) All required materials must be loaded onto the application.
I have just returned from medical leave today. I am available to answer any question. Please call me if you have questions. 510-238-7561.

Hi,
Art Services is listed as an applicable discipline for an Organization Project Grant. Could we please have more information about what qualifying as an "Art Services" discipline consists of? Thank you!
Artist Services would be those activities associated with providing financial services, professional development, creative coaching, and advocacy, to help the field to present, promote, or pass on art and arts-related activities.

Hi,
I looked over the application eligibility and some questions and I'm a bit confused. Is this a grant for individual artist to apply to do a project and present it to the public (by partnering with an organization or space) or is this a grant for arts organizations to partner up with individual artists? Some of the questions seem geared towards arts organizations and not individual artists. I plan to attend one of the grant info sessions but would appreciate some clarity. Also, it's the first time I'm applying for a grant in Oakland. Thank you!
Hi Gisela: This is for an INDIVIDUAL ARTIST to do a project. You may partner with others, but its not a requirement. The questions are basic information: Tell us about the project, implementation, outreach/marketing, and how your project realizes our program goals.
